One Thought On Iowa’s Football Team Landing Keenan Davis of Cedar Rapids

Great get.

That’s it.

But to amplify … I saw Keenan Davis of Cedar Rapids Washington play one time last fall. One time. It was enough. He runs, he leaps, he catches. He had the game-winning TD grab with 7.7 seconds left in that game, a Warriors 34-28 victory over Cedar Rapids Kennedy that ranks as one of the best prep games I’ve ever witnessed.

Davis had 13 receptions that night, for 137 yards and three TDs. If you didn’t walk away from that game knowing Iowa absolutely could not let this kid get away, a la former Washington receiver Adrian Arrington, you weren’t paying attention.

Davis is 6-foot-3. He busted three punt returns for touchdowns last season. On defense, he had five interceptions. I’ve heard no one utter a bad word about him as a person.

Great get.

That’s it.

  1. I go to school with Keenan and although I am not an expert on football, he makes our student section go crazy. He is truly a great guy and the little tidbit you wrote about never hearing anyone say anything bad about Keenan, it couldn’t be more true. Everyone loves him, he is nice to everyone he sees, he is has spectacular sportsmanship, and Iowa is lucky to have him.
