Florida International University, which is sending its football team to play at Iowa on Sept. 6, says its teams will now be known as the FIU Golden Panthers instead of Florida International University Golden Panthers.
FIU was 1-11 last season. It probably needs to change more than its name.

The win you’re referring to is no longer applicable because of an NCAA ruling that suspended FIU retroactively for any wins that were attributed to ineligible players. So their record was 0-12, again, for the third consecutive season.
And they’re getting a new stadium for this? You’re right, more does need to change.
